GTA 6 release date may be way sooner than fans think

The release date for GTA 6 is still deep under wraps, but a simple business memo may have accidentally revealed Rockstar’s plans.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated game of this decade, but Rockstar Games has done its best to keep any and all info private. The release date is probably the most important piece of information to keep quiet about, but it seems that Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two didn’t get the memo. A piece of info revealed in an earnings call memo may have spoiled the surprise, and if correct, the suggested date is way sooner than most fans expected.

The information was revealed in a call between Take-Two Interactive and its shareholders, possibly conducted on May 16, 2023. In the discussion, the publisher claimed that 2025 is planned to be one of the biggest years in the company’s history.

The company set a goal of $8 billion in net bookings, which is an astronomical number even for the biggest companies in gaming.

The call also claimed that the year would feature several ground-breaking titles that we believe will set new standards” in the gaming industry. Considering the continued success of GTA Online nearly a decade after its launch, it’s likely that the call is hinting at the release of a sequel.

GTA V remains one of the most lucrative games of all time, and Rockstar’s future release schedule leaves plenty of room for a 2025 release.

GTA 6 release date is possibly planned for early 2025

Based on the earnings call info, the release date of GTA 6 is possibly planned for early 2025.

This info has not been confirmed by Rockstar Games, which continues to keep silent on the game’s confirmed development. While the 2025 fiscal year is the key point of the call, the statement leaves room for a late 2024 release. If that is the case, it would match up with previous GTA 6 release date leaks.

Video game development is also a difficult endeavor, and it’s possible that Rockstar will delay the game well into or even past 2025. The studio is famous for its perfectionism and attention to detail, and the industry’s evolving stance toward crunch development could also play a role.
