GTA 6 now has an exact release window
While Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to stack up moolah, the developer has announced an updated release window for the next game installment, GTA 6.
In December last year, after a string of leaks and rumors, Rockstar finally unveiled the GTA 6 trailer, featuring the Bonnie-and-Clyde-inspired duo as the main protagonists. The trailer concluded with the game’s expected release window, set for 2025. However, Take-Two has some news.
While the exact month of release was never revealed, the game was expected to be launched in Spring 2025. However, according to Take-Two’s Q4 2024 earnings report, players may have to wait a bit longer.
GTA 6 to be released in the fall of 2025
According to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, GTA 6 will be launched sometime during the fall of 2025. Those who don’t know when is fall, should anticipate GTA 6 in latter half of 2025, around September through October.
“Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI,” the report said.
While it may be a slight delay, fans would at least be glad to know when to expect the hotly anticipated game. GTA 6 has already become Rockstar’s hottest title, becoming the most-viewed gaming trailer on YouTube within 24 hours. The developer is confident that GTA 6 will surpass its predecessor both in terms of popularity and revenue from sales and microtransactions.
It’s worth noting that GTA 5 has sold an astonishing 200m copies. Now, the developer is gearing up to deliver an “unparalleled entertainment experience.”
Zelnick added: “As we release our groundbreaking pipeline, we expect to achieve tremendous growth, including sequential increases in Net Bookings in Fiscal 2025, 2026, and 2027.”
If GTA 6 were to be released next fall, it would mark exactly 12 years since the release of GTA 5. More information about the game is currently unknown, except that it is set in a Miami-inspired Vice City, where a couple embarks on a criminal journey to collect cash in a hedonistic society.
