Griffin Sword files a police report against cVmax for abuse
Griffin Sword files a police report against cVmax for abuse
Griffin’s League of Legends top laner Choi “Sword” Sung-won reportedly filed a police report against his former coach, Kim “cvMax” Dae-ho, accusing him of abusive behavior,
Korean News1 has reported.
DragonX head coach cvMax hasn’t gotten a break from accusations and drama ever since he parted ways with Griffin. Since cvMax came out with details of player mistreatment by Griffin’s management, the story keeps getting sequels.
With Riot Games now investigating the coach for verbal and physical abuse after having placed his ban on hiatus, his former teammate Sword decided not to take any chances and went to the police with his accusations.
Sword has told the police cvMax was behaving aggressively when giving him feedback, often using curse words and derogatory terms to put him down, insulting his intelligence, calling him disgusting, and even going as far as to mention his family in negative connotations. Sword has earlier also
claimed
the coach has held him by the collar while aggressively shaking him, later telling him he deserved it.
Sword isn’t the only former team member accusing cvMax of choosing violence to train him. Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong, Shin “Rather” Hyeong-seop, and their coach and Coach Byun “Chaos” Young have shared in an
exclusive interview with invenglobal
cvMax was abusive towards some players last month, using methods such as pinching, and was often treating players with disrespect.

Riot Games postpones cvMax ban after community backlash
Following the accusation, Riot Korea decided to indefinitely ban cVmax from the LCK scene. However, the decision didn’t hold long as the League of Legends community turned vocal against it. Many League fans believe all of these accusations came up just to steal attention from the real problem, which is Griffin’s internal issues.
The Korean regional league has been in the spotlight for the past few months for all the wrong reasons. From Griffin’s controversy to organizations
getting called out for making players sign “slavery contracts”, fans are becoming very skeptical of the business side of LCK and of the accusations made towards former coach cvMax.

While it doesn’t get nearly as much attention as Riot-organized leagues and events, LCK powerhouses still participate in it. 2025’s KeSPA Cup is still fairly fresh since it took place in December. This year’s tournament ...
