GamerLegion benches ScreaM and HS, adds RuStY for Swedish roster

GamerLegion has announced some major changes to their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team. The organization stated that they are “conciously” taking steps towards becoming a fully Swedish team.

“We see huge opportunities here to fight our way to the top,” GamerLegion explained.

On their journey to be a fully Swedish CSGO team, the organization has announced that Alfred “RuStY” Karlsson has been added to the starting roster and Daniel “djL” Naranci is joining the organization as a coach.

According to the team’s official Twitter announcement, this decision came after “weeks of evaluation.” RuStY acted as a stand-in for the team in the European Champions Cup and in some qualifiers. The 21-year-old had previous played for Singularity and Red Reserve

“I’m so excited to be back and competing. Reunited with Hampus after a couple of years of playing against him. I believe this team will go very far! Got some sick talent in this roster,” RuStY tweeted

The roster change also saw Belgian player Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom and Estonian Kevin “HS” Tarn moved to the bench. The announcement noted that both players are “open for offers.” Meanwhile, ScreaM will be continuing to stream for the organization.

The news seems to have blindsighted HS, who was recently recovering from an accident that resulted in a broken left callus bone and a dislocated right shoulder.

“Interesting, just found out about this,” HS tweeted. “Nowhere near where I want to be in my CS career. I want to play in a team where each member is as ambitious as can be.”

HS added that he’s open to offers in Europe and North America.

GamerLegion has not announced a fifth player for their new Swedish roster just yet. In the past, William “draken” Sundin, Adam “friberg” Friberg, and Fredrik “FREDDyFROG” Gustafsson have filled in for the team during tournaments.

GamerLegion is currently competing in ESEA MDL, the European Champions Cup, and the European qualifier for StarSeries i-League Season 8. The organization will soon find out if having an all-Swedish roster is the key to success in these tournaments.
