Game Awards announcements leak shows Ragnarok PC and more
The Game Awards is a night for both celebration and announcements, and a leak may have spoiled some of the biggest reveals of the night.
The gaming industry is rife with leaks. Whether from disgruntled employees, savvy journalists, or just good old-fashioned data mining, it seems everything gets revealed earlier than intended. Sadly, the upcoming Game Awards are not immune from such issues. An insider with a reputation for accuracy has revealed a list of claimed leaks from the event.
Here are all the announcements leaked for the 2024 Game Awards along with the leaker’s reputation explained.
Leaked announcements from the 2024 Game Awards
The announcements at the 2024 Game Awards appear to be leaked early, and God of War Ragnarok on PC appears to be the biggest reveal of the night.
Bluesky user Laksus issued a social media post on November 27, 2024, claiming to already know many of the reveals due for the award show. Here are all of his claims laid out.
- Something related to God of War
- Rise of the Ronin DLC announcement.
- Split Fiction release date reveal from Josef Fares
- Confirmation of Crimson Desert release date
- Release date announcement for The First Berserker: Khazan
- Dune Awakening release date reveal
- Two Chinese games
- The Perceiver showcase at PlayStation or TGA
The God of War announcement is almost assuredly the release of Ragnarok on PC. The second game in the franchise reboot launched to critical acclaim and commercial success. The PC version of its predecessor launched just under four years after its PS4-exclusive launch. It quickly became a top seller on PC. Ragnarok has been out for over two years, which would make it an expedited release. However, considering the original’s success, it makes sense to speed up the transition to Windows.
Other notable leaked announcements at the 2024 Game Awards include a DLC reveal for Rise of the Ronin. Koei Tecmo’s PS5-exclusive action title met solid reviews from fans and critics, so a DLC seems natural. Split Ficiton is an upcoming title from Hazelight Fiction, the same studio behind smash coop hit It Takes Two. Crimson Desert is an open-world action RPG from the developer of Black Desert Online and The First Berseerker: Khazan is also an action title with a more Soulslike twist.
The leaker, Laksus, is a very new name in the leaking scene with few claims to fame. He has very few followers and little track record. However, many of the claims in the list seem reasonable. Fans will have to wait for official announcements at the 2024 Game Awards on December 12 to confirm his claims.
