G2 Esports reportedly looking to add CR4ZY players nexa, huNter-

G2 Esports might be in for significant roster changes.

According to a report by French outlet 1pv, the organization is looking to replace Richard “shox” Papillon and Lucas “Lucky” Chastang with Nemanja “nexa” Isaković and Nemanja “huNter-” KovaÄŤ. This follows repeated rumors regarding G2 making serious changes to its roster in the aftermath of the StarLadder Berlin Major.

Per 1pv, G2 is looking to have Nexa take over in-game leadership duties for the team, while huNter- will be in a similar role to G2 star Kenny “kennyS” Schrub.

Nexa and huNter- are both currently contracted to CR4ZY and the conditions of the potential transfer were not shared. Neither organization has made any kind of statement discussing the players, but this does follow allegations by CR4ZY CEO Antonio Meić of poaching attempts by G2.

Shox, Lucky, Kioshima, and G2’s roster drama

Since falling short of the top-eight at the StarLadder Berlin Major, G2 Esports has been at the center of constant rumors and reports regarding its roster.

The bulk of the discussion has surrounded shox being transferred to French rivals Team Vitality. According to reports, Vitality agreed to pay a six-figure transfer fee to G2 Esports in order to secure his services.

G2 and Vitality have not officially confirmed the news, but G2 certainly seems to be preparing for life without shox. Last week, the team confirmed that Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey would be competing with the team at ESL One New York as a substitute for shox.

While shox will be at home when the team travels to the Big Apple, that is not the case with Lucky. Though there have been some rumors from a number of different outlets regarding G2 looking to replace him, Lucky has been competing with the team normally.

HuNter- and nexa joining kennyS, François “AmaNEk” Delaunay, and Audric “JaCkz” Jug would certainly make for a formidable squad, though there could be communication hurdles there for the predominantly French team.

G2 is currently set for a very busy few weeks. Following ESL One New York, the team will turn around and compete at DreamHack Masters Malmo, which is followed by the start of ESL Pro League Season 10. Because of that, it is unclear when definite answers on G2’s roster may come.
