The League of Legends team rankings are still very competitive, with G2 Esports closing in on DWG KIA at the top.

DWG KIA is still defending the top spot on the team ranking, but G2 is starting to climb after its recent dominance in the LEC. It will still take some effort to knock down the world champions from the throne, but a couple of bad games could change everything. Further down the top 10 is Cloud9 and EDward Gaming, who are also both starting to climb rapidly.

DWG KIA keeps top spot, but G2 Esports is right behind

DWG KIA has consistently been keeping the top spot in the team ranking, but G2 is closing in on the throne. The defending LEC champions are currently topping the charts and looking to win another title when the playoffs start. The same goes for DWG KIA, who is dominating the LCK with an 11-1 record currently, making it hard for any team to catch up.

For G2 to take the top spot on the ranking, DWG KIA will likely have to make a mistake in the upcoming weeks while G2 continues winning. So far, only Fredit BRION has been able to take down DWG KIA in the LCK, but tough opponents are still coming up for the reigning world champions.

To start off week 7 of the LEC, G2 will clash with Rogue, who is currently fighting alongside them at the top of the LEC. The winner will be in pole position of the European league and likely see a big boost as a result.

Cloud9 and EDG are challenging from behind

The two most improved teams since the last team ranking are Cloud9 and EDG. Both teams are performing well in the LCS and LPL respectively, which is sending them towards the top.

Cloud9 dropped a few ranks in the last update after losing the LCS Lock In final to Team Liquid, but has since picked up the pace. The star-studded roster is currently topping the LCS with a 10-2 record. This has been rewarded with a third-place spot on the March ranking, but there is still some way to go before C9 can challenge DWG KIA and G2.

In sixth place is EDG, who started out the 2021 LPL Spring Split in a crazy fashion. EDG went undefeated in its first eight matches before finally losing to Invictus Gaming. Despite the loss, EDG was quick to bounce back against Rogue Warriors and is still topping the LPL standings with a 9-1 record. If EDG can keep performing, LPL fans might see new champions in the highly competitive league when the split is over.

EDG still has six games remaining in the regular split, so there’s a lot that could still happen.
