Fortnite Battle Pass items can now appear in item shop, here’s what it means
Fortnite Battle Pass items are no longer rare as Epic Games now allows players to just purchase them from the item shop. Here’s what the new Fortnite Battle Pass changes mean.
Some of the rarest Fortnite items are either from the initial few seasons or from Battle Pass. Since battle pass items are not purchasable through the shop and are owned by only those committed to the grind, they become highly coveted after each season. They may be cheap, but they are a testament to a player’s loyalty to the game.
Now, Epic Games is removing the exclusivity, making Battle Pass content available in the shop, but with a catch. Here’s all you need to know about the Fortnite Battle Pass changes.
Can you buy all Battle Pass items from Fortnite shop?
Yes. Epic Games has confirmed that all Battle Pass items will now be eligible to appear in the item shop 18 months after the pass expiration. These include Outfits, Back Blings, Pickaxes, Emotes, Instruments, Decals, Wraps, Loading Screens, Banner Icons, and more.
This means that while you can purchase any items from the shop, you’ll have to wait for almost two years to buy the items that were relevant at the time of said collaboration. Items that are not precisely trending collaboration can also be purchased if you’re patient enough.
While this is great news for those who don’t have time to grind the Battle Pass, it’s not the best financial idea to purchase singular items from the shop.
Each Battle Pass in Fortnite costs 950 V-Bucks and offers thousands of V-Bucks and in-game items for simply playing the game. Conversely, a single item in the shop can cost anywhere between 800 and 1,200 V-Bucks. When you look at it this way, it doesn’t sound like the best deal.
How the new Fortnite Battle Pass changes work
Each time the regular item shop in Fortnite rotates, a new variant of a Battle Pass skin will appear that players can buy individually with V-Bucks. This way, items in the pass may become less exclusive to full-time Fortnite players, but it will allow everyone to enjoy the skins if they are patient and loaded enough.
Players will have the freedom to only buy Battle Pass items that they truly like without spending hours playing the game. This is an excellent update for people who are not full-time Fortnite grinders but appreciate the in-game cosmetics.
