Forsen is banned on Twitch again, fans are wondering why

Twitch partner Sebastian “Forsen” Fors has been banned from the popular streaming platform.

Neither Forsen nor Twitch have publicly stated why the popular streamer was suspended. Yesterday, Forsen streamed for 6.5 hours to over 8,400 average concurrent viewers. He received the most views while playing Minecraft, with a peak of over 10,800 viewers. Forsen also just chatted with his followers and fans, but Minecraft has been his main game of choice in recent streams.

Confused fans began reaching out to Forsen, asking why he had been banned from Twitch. It seemed a bit strange for Forsen to get suspended while playing a generally innocent game while Minecraft, but the streamer is no stranger to getting in trouble this year.

Forsen banned

Forsen banned two times in 2020

Forsen was suspended for two weeks in May for using discriminatory language. Forsen tweeted that the source of the 14-day ban was saying “retarded Russians.” In the tweet, Forsen didn’t seem remorseful about what he said at all and seemed to indicate that his siblings being half-Russian meant he wasn’t at fault for the offensive phrase.

Banned for 2 weeks for saying retarded russians instead of retarded “people who cant participate in voice comms in valorant due to legal reasons”. I guess I have some more time to beat up my half russian siblings now. nice

Other streamers including Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera appeared to have a similar attitude in the replies. IWillDominate has been suspended from Twitch for similar reasons and was even dropped from Team Liquid for making sexist comments. This also got him kicked from the Leauge of Legends Partner Program.

It’s unclear this time around if Forsen is taking the ban a bit more seriously. Twitch has an infamous three-strike rule, meaning accounts can be permanently banned after three serious offenses. Forsen is now at two in just a few months’ time.

Of course, Twitch hasn’t been the most consistent with their rulings. Despite being suspended three times for racist language, popular streamer Turner “Tfue” Tenney was not permabanned from the platform. Other well-known content creators have been known to get “special treatment,” avoiding serious punishment for their actions.

With 1.3 million followers on Twitch and an average of over 8,000 viewers per stream, it’s possible that Forsen may be a big enough name on the platform to avoid any serious backlash for his suspensions. Still, the implementation of the Twitch Safety Advisory Council has made streamers more worried that their behaviors may be punished.
