Former EnVyUs players form core of new Team LDLC CS:GO roster

Team LDLC is back in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive business.

Just a week removed from the release of its roster, the enduring French organization has brought in a new squad of players. LDLC revealed in a series of tweets that its new lineup consists of Engin “MAJ3R” Kupeli, Christophe “SIXER” Xia, Alexandre “xms” FortĂ©, and Vincent “Happy” Cervoni Schopenhauer. Filling in the final spot on a trial basis is Rodolphe “rodeN” Bianco.

Much of the team is comprised of cast-offs from Team Envy’s final months as a French brand. Longtime captain Happy rejoins LDLC for the fourth time. He bounced in and out of the team’s lineup from 2013 to 2015 but eventually found a long-term home in EnVyUs. He landed with Team Vitality for a time but was only active for two months before getting benched in favor of Alex “ALEX” McMeekin.

Happy is joined by former teammates SIXER and XMS. Happy and SIXER played together for a year and a half from 2016 to 2018, with XMS joining in the middle of that stretch. The trio enjoyed solid success at prominent events, with its biggest victory coming at DreamHack Open Atlanta 2017.

XMS was benched in early 2018 and took a hiatus from the game for much of the year while SIXER was demoted from Team Envy to its developmental EnVyUs Academy team in 2018. All three were released in June 2018 when Envy dropped its entire CS:GO division.

The team’s most surprising addition is MAJ3R. The veteran player is best known for his two-year run with Space Soldiers, which included wins in a number of European tournaments. The roster split from the organization in October due to a contract dispute but continued to compete as a unit until washing out early from the 2019 Katowice Major’s European Minor.

The final member of the team is RodeN, who is making his first appearance with a major CS:GO organization. The 21-year-old has competed in a variety of smaller tournaments over the years, often seen in European ESEA league play.

The lineup is a solid one and could be competitive among other European teams. The new LDLC is making its debut in the ESL Championnat National Summer 2019 event.
