The first images of the 150th League of Legends champion have been leaked on Reddit and the hero looks to be an interesting addition to League of Legends.

The first look at Spirit Blossom Yone surfaced on Reddit, confirming Yone as the 150th champion to join Summoner’s Rift. Yone is the second champion revealed for the Spirit Blossom summer event. Earlier this year, Riot Games hinted that one of the new champions would be “a familiar face” and it doesn’t get more familiar than Yone.

Players started speculating that Yone was the new champion based on a series of clues hidden throughout League of Legends’ entire series of games.

One of the first clues came in 2015 with the Project Yasuo skin. In the cinematic, Project: OVERDRIVE, Yasuo is haunted by a masked creature that carries two swords. Thanks to Legends of Runeterra, fans know that Yone carries two swords. In Yasuo’s lore, he is forced to fight his brother when he wrongfully accused of murder. Yasuo believes he killed Yone and runs away, starting his life as a fugitive.

Riot previously described the new champion as a “masked stranger who refuses to die” which fits perfectly with Yone’s description.

What role will new LoL champion Yone play?

Riot said that it was planning on releasing at least one champion per role in 2020. The last four champions released each fit into a role. Senna and Aphelios both came out in the offseason, with the former being a support and the latter being an ADC. Sett, despite being played in other roles, was intended to be a top laner.

The recently revealed LoL champion Lillia is a jungler. Following that order, Yone should be a mid laner, perhaps a Skirmisher like Yasuo himself.

There isn’t an exact date for the Spirit Blossom event, but it has been marketed as a big summer event. All new champions and skins will be hitting the PBE soon.
