Fedmyster officially returns to Twitch and Pokimane responds

Federico “Fedmyster” Gaytan is officially back on Twitch, and not everyone is happy about it.

The popular content creator disappeared from Twitch in 2020 after he was accused of sexually harassing a member of OfflineTV. He was booted from the house and then shunned from social media platforms following the incident. But Fedmyster later released a long Google Doc outlining his grievances with Imane “Pokimane” Anys. He claimed the leak was accidental. But this seemed to further turn the Twitch community against him.

Fedmyster returned to the streaming platform on June 23 despite some protestations.

“I’d like to officially announce OfflineTV Rejects,” Fedmyster said during a recent stream. “We’re getting a house!”

Fedmyster then called out Chris Chan, OTV’s former manager who got drunk and fondled the same female content creator that accused Fedmyster of groping her. He also said Albert Chang could join OfflineTV Rejects, an ex-boyfriend of the victim who had cheated on her and was shown to have sent some sketchy DMs that eventually leaked.

Fedmyster’s flippant attitude towards the allegations and other situations with former OfflineTV housemates left a bad taste in many peoples’ mouths. It seemed as though Fedmyster wasn’t taking his actions seriously and was making a joke about it instead. A lot of people felt he should have taken the year off of social media to grow.

Fedmyster continues to dig himself into hole in Twitch stream

During one of his recent streams, Fedmyster attempted to explain his side of the story about the sexual misconduct in OfflineTV. But many people felt that his explanation was worded clumsily and showed that he didn’t seem to understand the severity of the sexual harassment.

Fedmyster claimed that he was close with the victim and that they mutually agreed to him giving her a foot massage when they were intoxicated. But when he woke up the next day, Fedmyster allegedly realized that he “didn’t mean that” and had violated her trust.

Fedmyster also bothered a lot of viewers when he was featured on a stream with Steven “Destiny” Bonnell. He told Destiny a story about his friend breaking up with a girl and subsequently sharing her nude photos around the school “out of anger.”

“I just want to say, like, that’s an example of violating consent,” Fedmyster said.

Fedmyster then explained that it’s similar to his situation with Pokimane, since private information was in that case “accidentally” leaked.

Destiny started laughing in response. He mocked Fedmyster while he was talking, seemingly shocked that Fedmyster didn’t understand that this was clearly a wrong thing to do.

Pokimane responds to Fedmyster return to Twitch

As Fedmyster continued to dig himself a deeper hole online, Pokimane felt pressure to make a statement about Fedmyster’s return to Twitch. While she admitted that she wasn’t willing to say much more on the situation, she provided her fans with a “clip” about Fedmyster for the time being.

“I know a lot of people are going to ask me about a certain someone. I’m going to say my piece. It’s not my place to say if someone has changed because their actions and words will eventually speak for themselves. But I can’t be friends with someone who sexually assaulted people I care about and then handle it the way that he did,” Pokimane said. “I won’t be affiliating with him or his circle. It’s time to move on with our lives and that’s life. That’s all I gotta say.”

The situation with Fedmyster has clearly made Pokimane uncomfortable for the time being and she doesn’t plan on saying anything further about her former friend and OfflineTV member.
