Febby returns to pro play to support and captain TNC Predator

At long last, TNC Predator has completed its Dota 2 roster.

The organization announced that its coach Kim “Febby” Yong-min has returned to active competition, and will be taking on the dual role of hard support and captain. The announcement was made in a post on Twitter:

Today we announce that we are releasing Kim Yong Min, better know as Febby, from coaching

Febby joins the roster and replaces former teammate Park “March” Tae-won, who split from TNC Predator in September to become coach of T1. The addition of Febby sees TNC’s roster standing as follows:

  1. Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte
  2. Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios
  3. Damien “kpii” Chok
  4. Timothy John “Tims” Randrup
  5. Kim “Febby” Yong-min

Febby should be a known name for Dota 2 fans. The South Korean helped put his country on the Dota 2 map with MVP Phoenix and from there competed with both Immortals and Mineski. Since leaving Mineski he’s been a journeyman, playing with multiple teams for just a few tournaments at a time.

He joined TNC Predator as a coach in January 2020 and became an occasional substitute on the team throughout the year. His most recent performance was by far the best, as the squad won BTS Pro Series Season 4’s Southeast Asia event.

Febby has plenty of experience playing in a support role for big teams, but serving as a captain is relatively new for him. The question is whether his experience with this TNC lineup will allow him to easily transition into this role.

Febby’s TNC Predator debuts in PGL’s DPC League

Luckily for TNC and Febby, the team will have a bit of wiggle room for experimentation. The team was given a direct invitation to PGL’s Southeast Asian Dota 2 league. This will see them compete against a mix of familiar and new teams.

Competition isn’t particularly stiff in the region and Southeast Asia has three major slots to work with. This means that TNC is in a very strong position to make a run to the first major of the season, unless the team’s performance falls well short of its potential.

What country is TNC from?

TNC is based in the Philippines and has predominantly been made up of Filipino players. It has long been willing to bring in players from other regions however, first rising to the international stage with American Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho on the team and currently fielding Australian Damien “kpii” Chok alongside Korea’s Febby.
