Febby coaching debut at DreamLeague Season 13 off to shaky start

Kim “Febby” Yong-min has kicked off his career as a coach at the DreamLeague Season 13 major.

The player recently reunited with his former MVP Phoenix teammate Park “March” Tae-won on TNC Predator. Febby will look to help the southeast Asian squad maintain its spot at the top of the Dota 2 scene.

After their huge win at the MDL Chengdu Major, TNC Predator finds itself atop the Dota Pro Circuit rankings. Fans can safely assume that the win secured them a direct invitation to the biggest tournament of the year, The International 2020. TNC will look to leverage the Korean veterans’ savvy into another strong performance at DreamLeague Season 13.

TNC struggling at DreamLeague Season 13

The new TNC coach etched his name into Dota 2 history during his time with MVP Phoenix, which included strong performances at both The International 2015 and 2016. 

That success has eluded him over recent years, though. The player has bounced from team to team since 2014, a stretch which included short runs with Mineski, Fnatic, and Immortals. He notably and controversially won the Most Valuable Player at ESL One Mumbai 2019 during his time with Mineski, despite having just lost in the grand finals to Keen Gaming.

He most recently competed with T1 in the DreamLeague Season 13 SEA open qualifiers.

Despite that lack of competitive success, Febby has kept himself relevant by working in other areas of the Dota 2 scene. He worked as a caster and analyst at The International 2019 and has become popular of late as a streamer, where he can be found singing and dancing during games of Dota 2. 

To this point, Febby’s stint as coach hasn’t gone especially well. TNC Predator went 0-2 in the group stage of DreamLeague Season 13 and faces a long road through the lower bracket, which starts with a best-of-one against regional rival Reality Rift.
