FaZe Clan and ENCE are set for an interesting clash in the ESL Pro League Season 15.

The newest iteration of FaZe Clan has been on fire despite the organization dealing with various health issues. Multiple bouts of illness saw players miss a chunk of IEM Katowice, with Justin “jks” Savage substituting in for both Håvard “rain” Nygaard and Robin “ropz” Kool at separate times. The former Renegades star stepped up at IEM Katowice 2022, helping FaZe Clan win its biggest tournament to date in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Coming off that victory, FaZe Clan is entering into the ESL Pro League for season 15’s group play. That journey starts with a match against ENCE.

So what kind of form are these teams entering the match in? How should ESL Pro League bettors approach ENCE vs. FaZe Clan?

FaZe Clan looking to stay strong coming off IEM Katowice 2022 win

Winning IEM Katowice 2022 is FaZe Clan’s biggest accomplishment in CSGO to date, but it at times a patchwork FaZe Clan roster. It remains unclear how good the current FaZe Clan roster will be over the longer term.

jks’s performance at IEM Katowice with an unfamiliar team against the toughest competition in the world was admirable. The Australian amassed a +17 K/D differential across 10 maps while subbing in for the two shelved FaZe players.

But the biggest factor in FaZe’s victory was the individual excellence of Helvijs “broky” Saukants. The Latvian player amassed an incredible performance throughout the tournament, finishing with a +134 K/D differential and 81.8 average damage per round. Though broky is historically very good, this was a strong performance even by his lofty standards.

The only appearance of the current full-strength FaZe Clan roster so far was at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022 where the team took first in its group. This included a 3-1 record in best-of-one matches against Team Liquid and Team Vitality, followed by a best-of-three win over BIG.

The jury is still out on how good the current FaZe Clan is, but odds are that the organization will remain a major force in CSGO. The question now turns to whether it can establish itself as a proper rival to top-ranked Natus Vincere.

ENCE hits the skids ahead of ESL Pro League

ENCE is still trying to recover from the devastating mistake that was releasing Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen after the StarLadder Berlin Major. The mixed European team has had generally poor results ever since, but a second-place finish in the Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI European RMR event gave fans a hint that the team is capable of big things if it gets hot at the right time.

But against top competition, ENCE has been freezing cold over recent months. Across several large events from October 2021 to February 2022, ENCE had a 6-11 series record. The good news is that the team has gotten its groove back to at least some degree.

In the Pinnacle Winter Series 2 event, ENCE finished in second place after topping SKADE and Bluejays. ENCE was defeated in the finals 2-1 by forZe. The organization likely hopes that this will give the team a boost of confidence that it sorely needs heading into a more prominent event.

FaZe Clan vs. ENCE betting odds, analysis for ESL Pro League Season 15

At time of writing, FaZe Clan is a significant favorite to beat ENCE. Winners.bet has the line set at 1.26 vs. 3.47.

Betting on FaZe Clan is likely a low-risk, low-reward play, with that 26% return being decent enough to consider. Those looking to stick with FaZe Clan while seeking better odds may want to look to pistol rounds.

FaZe Clan has a very strong 64.3% success rate in pistol rounds over the last three months, one of the highest tallies among ranked teams during that time frame. ENCE is at the opposite end of the spectrum at 44.4% successful. A bet on FaZe to win pistol rounds goes for 1.71, which is quite a bit more than the 1.26 for a win.
