FaZe Clan has eliminated OG from IEM Katowice 2021 in a convincing 2-0 win, moving on to the lower semi-finals.

In a one-sided match, the revamped FaZe clan has pounced all over OG, heading further in IEM Katowice 2021. The team bested OG on its own map pick, Mirage. Then it out-aimed OG on Dust 2 in a clean 16-9 win. The sharp-looking FaZe Clan has moved ahead in IEM Katowice to take upon bigger battles.

OG eliminated from IEM Katowice 2021

OG didn’t have the start on Mirage that they’d hoped for. FaZe Clan marched over OG’s Terrorist’s side strategies, bagging five consecutive rounds. The Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen-led roster snatched its first win out of Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken’s mouth, denying him an ace. The team kept trying to hit the middle, but to no avail. Twistzz’s rifle discarded the OG members swiftly, adding 21 kills just in the first half on Mirage. Eventually, OG found FaZe’s weak link at the B site and capitalized on it till they had earned six wins on the T-side.

However, OG looked dicey on the Counter-Terrorist front as the players whiffed easy shots and consequently gave up sites. FaZe Clan’s Helvijs “broky” Saukants activated his AWP on the second half, getting crucial opening kills on Mirage. The team breezed through OG’s playground on Twistzz and broky’s back in a smooth 16-7 win.

Dust 2 started much like Mirage, with FaZe asserting dominance early on. Finn “karrigan” Andersen and company’s impeccable A short pushes had flustered the Aleksib led roster. FaZe’s seven-round winning spree on Dust 2’s T-side had OG looking out of sorts as the players lost easy aim duels.

OG managed its first win on the CT side by blocking out a B push from FaZe, adding one to the scoreboard. The team got back into the game with Issa “ISSAA” Murad and Aleksib’s incredible showing at A site, turning down another execute from FaZe. Nathan “NBK” Schmitt had turned B-site into a lion’s den where he bagged quick three kills, earning OG another round. FaZe settled on breaking A and succeeded to get the upper hand once again.

A 6-9 scoreline was tough to balance for OG, considering the team’s mediocre form and FaZe Clan’s hyperaggressive play on CT-side only added to OG’s stress. A mid to B execute worked for OG, but karrigan was quick to read Aleksib’s calling. FaZe’s quick rotations made it impossible for OG players to stay in the game.

Håvard “rain” Nygaard converted some close losses into easy wins through his incredible spray control, ensuring FaZe’s lead on the scoreboard. While OG was striving to come back and even the scoreline to 15-15, a fast push from CT-sided FaZe booted OG out of IEM Katowice 2021.

OG’s tries at winning both the maps were noteworthy but the team seemed off-color from the beginning. Most of the round losses came from aim-duels that OG seemed to easily give up to FaZe Clan’s members. With rain’s incredible clutches and Twistzz’s loaded individual scoreboard, Aleksib’s strategies failed terribly.

With this loss, OG’s journey in IEM Katowice 2021 has come to an end. FaZe Clan will now compete against the winner of Furia versus NaVi in the lower bracket semi-finals.
