The Unkillable Demon King has spoken.
T1’s Sang-hyeok “Faker” Lee has finally weighed in on one of the biggest League of Legends debates of all time. In a recent stream, the Korean LoL star told his followers his opinion on if Flash should be bound to the “F” key or the “D” key.Â
“Don’t fight over Flash on D or F, guys. Everyone has their own preference,” Faker said. “Just because mint chocolate is nasty, you can’t blame people who like its flavor. Some people just like tasteless food.”Â
So which is the nasty key here? For Faker, it’s the D key. He uses F for Flash.
This is actually most common in Korea. In the LCK, 78% of Korean pro players use F for Flash. All LCK mid laners except for Gen.G’s Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong and KT Rolster’s Seo-haeng “Kuro” Lee, use F.Â
Interestingly enough, pro players elsewhere in the world tend to feel differently. For example, LCS players are not as keen on F. In fact, 65% of LCS players have spent this season using D for Flash. Cloud9, who are currently the clear team to beat in all of North America, all use D, as do FlyQuest.
By contrast, all of 100 Thieves’ players use F.Â
Faker has actually made his opinion on Flash keys known before.Â
In April 2019, Faker discussed the ongoing debate on his stream again. He told his followers that anyone using Flash on D was “playing Silver.”
“You can’t use Flash on D,” Faker said at the time.
But apparently, it wasn’t enough.Â
Last year at the Mid-Season Invitational, Faker discussed the hot button topic with Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, who has been using D for Flash since Season 1.Â
Both competitors were asked which key they use and simultaneously answered. When Doublelift said “D,” Faker turned to him and shook his head, saying no to the very idea.
“I’m ashamed. I need to change, I know. I’m Silver,” Doublelift said, shaking his head.Â
Faker remained calm while hearing this, but couldn’t hold back his harsh words.Â
“I don’t like Flash on D. Shame on you,” Faker said.Â
“I’m not proud of it,” Doublelift responded.Â
This does raise one other question: What does Faker have against mint chocolate chip?
Apparently it’s something that haunts Faker’s thoughts regularly. In a T1 fan lobby, Faker saw someone with the name “mint chocolate is tasty.” Upon seeing this revolting user name, Faker openly debated if he should kick the fan out.
So that’s that. D for Flash? Out. Mint chocolate? Out. You heard it directly from Faker.
