Ex-Alliance players 33 and Fata form new team in BTS Pro Series
Ex-Alliance players 33 and Fata form new team in BTS Pro Series
A new contender has been revealed in the European region.
The BTS Pro Series Season 3 Europe and CIS event is set to feature a number of familiar faces including Ninjas in Pyjamas, B8, and Vikin.gg. Also listed is a new team named mudgolems, a squad made up of a number of proven veterans. The lineup listed for BTS Pro Series stands as follows:
- Oliver “skiter” Lepko
- Duško “BoraNija” Boranijaševic
- Neta “33” Shapira
- Milan “MiLAN” Kozomara
- Adrian “Fata” Trinks
The most notable names attached to mudgolems are 33 and Fata. The pair formed a new roster that was sponsored by Alliance ahead of the current season. The team enjoyed fast success, most notably placing fourth at the DreamLeague Season 12 major, but 33 and Fata were surprisingly kicked in March. 33 was replaced by a returning Gustav “s4” Magnusson, but the team is yet to find a full-time replacement for Fata.
MiLAN and skiter are also likely familiar names to most Dota 2 fans. Both have been journeymen in recent years, playing with a number of notable teams across multiple regions with mixed results.
BoraNija has largely flown under the radar, spending the bulk of his career as an on-again, off-again member of Elements Pro Gaming. He most recently had a brief stint with Aggressive Mode.
33, Fata face stiff challenge in European Dota 2 scene
The mudgolems lineup is a solid one, largely made up of players that have performed well in big tournaments over the years. The sticking point is that there may not be any one star player capable of carrying the load against top competition.
33 and Fata are proven as potential franchise players, with 33 helping OpTic Gaming post a solid year that culminated in a top-eight finish in The International 2018 and Fata playing mid for both Team Liquid and Team Secret. MiLAN and skiter are both talented, but haven’t spent more than a few months with any one team for a long while now.
Teams such as North America’s 4 Zoomers have shown that a squad of journeymen can come together and find success with the right chemistry. But there are many more examples of teams in similar situations dissolving due to interpersonal reasons or poor results.
The first look at the team will come in the BTS Pro Series Season 3 EU and CIS league.
