Sett, also known as The Boss, is one of Ionia’s unique champions. Here’s everything you need to know on the subject of Sett lore.

Ionia is often depicted as an ancient and magical land with traditions as old as its people, depicted through champions like Akali, Shen, Xayah, and others. The Sett lore we have so far gives a different look at the region, with the juggernaut acting at the head of a criminal empire.

All of the Sett lore you should know

In the lore of League of Legends, Sett is one of the most prominent figures in Ionia’s criminal scene, running fighting rings and related operations. Sett is a half-Vastayan and half-human whose Vastayan mother was abandoned by his human father after Sett was born. In order to help support his mother, Sett began to get involved in the fighting pits of Navori to make money.

Sett quickly made a name for himself with his bestial strength and speed, as well as his natural gift for bringing a beatdown to those on the opposing side of the arena. Sett’s popularity as a fighter let him begin to rise up the ranks of the fighting pits until he became part of the arena’s management. In present-day canon, Sett is now the owner of the same Navori fighting rings that he once participated in.

Despite his tough outer appearance, Sett is committed to making his mother proud and taking care of her. Sett uses his money from the fighting pits to assist her, and keeps the true nature of his work to himself. This softer side to Sett shows the character’s depth in the world of LoL.

Apart from one piece of narrative support, Sett has very little involvement with the active world of Runeterra, largely keeping to himself in Navori. If you want to learn more about Sett, check out this short story.
