Armored Core 6 Gameplay

From Software has released gameplay footage of Armored Core 6, and there’s plenty to be gleaned from the glimpses fans have been provided.

A brand new look at the actual gameplay of From Software’s return to its previous futuristic mech shooter has pulled the curtain back on the studio’s next project. After being announced at the 2022 Game Awards, fans have been eagerly awaiting details on the game. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon will take fans back into the interstellar world of From Software’s Armored Core universe.

Armored Core Gameplay 6

In a three-minute gameplay trailer revealed earlier today, fans got their first proper peek at the gameplay of From Software’s next game. The game takes place on the planet of Rubicon, the only source for a mysterious substance called Coral. Extraterrestrial corporations and armies have arrived on Rubicon and placed the planet under siege in order to seize control of the supply of Coral.

In the trailer, the player character, referred to as a “Augmented Human C4-621” in the care of a “Handler” named Walter.

In the brief glimpses of gameplay granted, the modularity of building a player’s Armored Core is highlighted. First, a quadrupedal Armored Core uses jets to hover above the battlefield and rain down fire. In another, a tracked Armored Core resembling a tank drifts and charges through enemies.

Finally, a typical bipedal AC leaps and dashes around the battlefield, toting responsive mobility. The trailer also showcases From Software’s infamous boss battles, with the player fighting against giant missile array-like mech, a huge industrial mech with two arms, and a wide variety of enemies.

The gameplay seems to be fast, rewarding aggressive but calculated play. A huge variety of enemy mechs is also touted, with everything from Droideka-esque missile drones to armored quadrupeds and bipedal anti-air mechs.
