ESGS 2019 brings together gamers from across the Philippines
The Esports and Gaming Summit 2019 has concluded, bringing to fans in the Philippines a bevy of unique and memorable experiences.
ESGS 2019 is an event marked annually on the calendars of every gamer in the Philippines. It is the day gamers come out to celebrate their passion with like-minded individuals.
The event was organized by Gariath Concepts and co-presented by PLDT Home Fibr and Smart.
ESGS sets new records every year and is dubbed as “One of the Biggest Gaming Conventions in Southeast Asia”. This year, the event garnered more than 42,000 participants and broke last year’s attendance record by a whopping 40%.
Fans experienced more of the annual hype at this year’s iteration of ESGS. The event was fueled by exciting activities and intrigued attendees. From PC games to console games, from MOBAs to MMORPGs, from casual gamers to professional players, ESGS made space for it all.
Different gaming partners and advocates were in attendance, representing every aspect of the Filipino gaming community.
The main stage was jampacked with different tournaments and brand showcases. One of the most well-received segments was Tier One Entertainment’s brand showcase, with a new song release from COLN. The band was put together by famous YouTuber Lincoln “Cong” Velasquez.
Maxsoft’s Nintendo Switch booth stood out as the huge gaming area showcased the upcoming Just Dance 2020 along with such games as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu!, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Nintendo Switch players come together in a Miini Miit Up to encounter other gamers, have fun, and win giveaways.
PLDT Home Fibr’s Cyber City was at the heart of the event. It has a PlayStation area where gamers could take on different quests to win merchandise. Fans could also take pictures with the cosplayers from Dota 2 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to earn more quest points.
The Lupon Civil War, organized by WomboXCombo, further hyped up fans as they cheered their favorite Dota 2 pro players and streamers. The audience also supported the playing shoutcasters and analysts from WomboXCombo.
ESGS also featured to Fighting Game Arena that hosted fighting game tournaments for Tekken 7, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Soul Calibur 6, Street Fighter V, and more.
IGDA Manila’s INDIE FIESTA section boasted different independent games such as In Deep Space, Unspoken, Waiting System, re.Cycle, and more.
This huge gaming event took place at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, Philippines.
