Fortnite is now allowing players to keep the iconic Paradigm skin for free after accidentally unvaulting it on August 6.
The Fall Guys crossover in Fortnite brought a slew of items, and with it, it also marked the unintentional return of Paradigm skin, originally released in 2019. Paradigm is part of The Seven set and is a precious skin since it’s owned only by the OG players. It never returned to the shop after Season X, so when players saw that it was purchasable in Season 5, they rushed to buy it.
However, merely after an hour, Paradigm was taken down. It turns out it was all an accident, and players were prepared to return the skin. However, Fortnite has some great news.
Instantly after taking the skin down, Epic Games announced that Paradigm would be removed from the purchaser’s inventory within a week since it was released on accident.
However, a new update from the developer has a more elaborate plan to fix the blunder.
“Change of plan! Bought The Paradigm tonight? You can keep her! Her accidental return to the Shop is on us… so if you purchased The Paradigm during this evening’s rotation, you can keep this Outfit and we’ll refund your V-Bucks soon-ish.” Fortnite said.
Those who bought the skin would be glad to know that not only can they keep the Paradigm, but also they’ll get their money back. In other words, their rare and iconic skin is now free. Epic Games has revealed that those who bought the skin during the bug will get the V-Bucks refund soon. But that would leave the OG fans feeling less OG since newer players now own rare skin.
To remedy that, Epic Games has announced a brand new variant of The Paradigm that would be distributed among those who purchased the original outfit in Fortnite season X. Those who wish to refund the brand new variant will have the option to get 1,200 V-Bucks back.
This is excellent news for both new and old players, as it still sets the OG players apart while not punishing the new buyers for an in-game blunder.
The release date for the new Paradigm skin is unannounced, but it won’t happen immediately.
The new variant will be given only to those who bought the original skin in 2019. Players will be notified when the skin is ready to roll out.
