With the season’s third Dota 2 major only a few weeks away, the event’s coveted slots are being filled out by the world’s strongest teams.

Forward Gaming and Flying Penguins both had strong starts in the group stage of the North American qualifier for DreamLeague Season 11. Each team won two series without dropping a single game.

During the playoffs, Forward Gaming faced regional powerhouse Evil Geniuses in a best-of-three match. Forward chalked up the first victory with the dominant performances from Yawar “YawaR” Hassan’s Outworld Devourer and Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok’s Faceless Void.

But as the often does, Evil Geniuses bounced back in the second and third games to take the first slot in the major tournament. J.Storm took the second slot after a clean 2-0 series against Flying Penguins.

Forward Gaming was able to take the longer route in the lower bracket to grab the qualifier’s final major spot.

The China qualifier saw stellar performances from the best Chinese squads.

Team Aster took a top spot in the group stage, but was knocked down by PSG.LGD in the upper bracket and eliminated by Keen Gaming in the lower bracket. PSG.LGD earned a major slot as did EHOME, who won a series against Vici Gaming 2-0.

In the lower bracket, Keen Gaming took the qualifier’s final spot after eliminating Royal Never Give Up with a clean sweep.

Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Secret, and Team Liquid proved to be the strongest teams in the European region. Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere won spots through the CIS region qualifier in convincing fashion

Chaos Esports Club and Infamous qualified from the South America region, while Fnatic and Mineski took Southeast Asia’s slots.

DreamLeague Season 11 is the second tournament organized by DreamHack in the current Dota Pro Circuit. This is to be the 11th installment of the DreamLeague series, which originally started in 2013.

DreamLeague Season 11 boasts a $1,000,000 USD prize pool and has 15,000 DPC points up for grabs.
