Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has a list of fearsome enemies that will put your Jedi skills to the test. One of the most notorious opponents is the Rancor. Killing it is a matter of strategy and a bit of luck.

The Rancor is a reptilian carnivore from the planet Dathomir. In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the Rancor can prove to be a challenging opponent. It is considered a legendary enemy in the game, with limited locations where you can find them.

This reptile prefers the darkness, so it’s only natural that you can find it in pits and caves, a bit out of the way. One of Rancor’s known locations is the Sodden Grotto. This is an early encounter, where players usually have lower levels.

How to defeat the Rancor in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

The first step is to make sure you maxed out the stim, health, and force.

The most important is to stay calm and wait for your moment to strike back. The Rancor’s attacks will come at you fast and have a long range. However, after launching an attack, it will have a recovery window where you’ll be able to deal most of your damage. These are the windows of opportunity you are looking for. The best way to counter its attacks is to parry, a skill that you can practice ahead of this encounter.

The Rancor has two attacks that you won’t be able to counter at all. In one attack, it will create shockwaves that travel toward you. To avoid them, it is enough just to jump, no other type of block will be useful. In the second attack that cannot be blocked, it will jump toward you and grab you. While this attack can prove to be mortal, it is enough just to dodge it.

At 70% HP, the Rancor will swing its arms around, marking the transition into the second phase. Avoid taking any damage from it as possible and continue dealing damage to it.
