Minecraft YouTuber Dream is being accused of grooming in a series of deleted social media posts from an alleged victim.
Dream has been in the spotlight for the past week after finally revealing his face for the first time. But the discussion surrounding his appearance has been overshadowed by serious allegations against the Minecraft content creator. On October 4, 2022, a Twitter user stated that Dream had sexually harassed her two years ago when she was 17 years old.
Along with the accusations, the victim shared screenshots of her alleged interactions with Dream, most of which happened while he was using a burner phone, she claimed. They started talking on Twitter and it soon moved to his Snapchat so he felt safer about not getting caught.
“None of it is appropriate for a ‘fan’ and influencer to be this close especially since I was 17 and in high school and he knew that,” the victim tweeted.
On October 14, the hashtag #DreamIsAFreak started trending on Twitter, prompting other young women to come forward about their alleged interactions with Dream.
In a video originally shared on TikTok, the girl showed her Instagram DMs with the official Dream account. It started off “wholesome” but it went downhill when he told her to add his private Snapchat, where they eventually started sexting.
“I didn’t save any messages. That’s because I wanted him to trust me. I thought I was genuinely building a bond with my favorite YouTuber. But boy was I wrong,” she said. “The only reason I’m speaking up about this is because somebody else did.”
The Dream community is currently skeptical of the accusations. A lot of people feel there isn’t enough proof to believe that Dream acted inappropriately with fans. Others, however, have started sharing other questionable behavior from Dream over the years.
Dream himself has not responded to the ongoing grooming allegations.
