Dr. Disrespect disses Valorant, calls new FPS “hard to watch”

Per usual, Dr. Disrespect has something to say.

On a recent stream, Twitch personality Herschel “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm IV gave his early opinion on Riot’s new FPS, Valorant. To no one’s surprise, he had some harsh words. Apparently, he wasn’t too fond of the new game from what he’s seen.

“Even as a brand new game, it only took me a couple rounds to go, ‘Okay, this is it. And I’m not too interested.’ Valorant is hard to watch,” Dr. Disrespect told his fans.

The Two-Time never said what specifically made him less interested in watching Valorant, but he wasn’t alone in this criticism after the Twitch Rivals Valorant Showcase. Other viewers also felt the gameplay was quite slow, possibly due to the game’s heavy reliance on walking to avoid making sounds, or maybe due to the game’s large maps and broadly spaced out teamfights.

It’s also possible that the observers just weren’t quite certain what to show on stream, since this was the first time a match was being broadcasted to the world. Observers didn’t seem aware of when to switch to another player and viewers were often left watching someone creep around slowly for a few minutes after getting a few kills while more action was happening elsewhere on the map.

Dr. Disrespect compares Valorant to Overwatch

Dr. Disrespect immediately compared the viewing experience of Valorant to Overwatch, another game heavy on abilities.

“I’m not intersted in watching someone play [Overwatch], especially if they’re just a main tank, swinging around. With so many graphics all over. All that stuff,” he explained.

Dr. Disrespect has been vocal about his disdain for watching Overwatch in the past, ranting that someone new to the game would never be able to understand what’s happening on screen. He even called the experience ‘terrible.’”

Even though Dr. Disrespect isn’t too keen on watching the Overwatch League, he has been enjoying actually playing Overwatch since he picked it up.

“It’s so much fun to play. It’s a fun game to play, but man I cannot watch it,” he said. “I wonder if it’ll be the same thing with Valorant.”

It appears that Dr. Disrespect hasn’t had a chance to play the game himself, unlike many other big-name streamers. Some other content creators have given high praises to the new game, calling it a “total blast” and “a lot of fun.” Former Overwatch pro Felix “xQc” Lengyel is currently the only popular streamer to be skeptical of Valorant. Until now, that is.

While Dr. Disrespect doesn’t seem too excited from what he’s seen, it’s clear that he will be giving the game a chance before he makes a final decision.
