Dr Disrespect says Lost Ark takes no skill, refuses to play
Lost Ark has been getting a lot of attention ahead of its recent release but Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm isn’t interested in the new MMO.
Lost Ark is coming out on February 11 and there are already more than 500,000 users. Many content creators have already started sharing early access streams, with Asmongold getting record viewership for broadcasting his Lost Ark gameplay. The game has been surrounded by hype but Dr Disrespect has remained firm that he’s not interested.
Dr Disrespect explains why he won’t play Lost Ark
While playing Call of Duty: Warzone with Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar, Dr Disrespect went on a rant over the new MMO. TimTheTatman was trying to get The Two-Time excited about Lost Ark after playing it for a few hours, but he couldn’t get Dr Disrespect to even consider it.
Dr Disrespect responded that the game is a “snooze,” challenging TimTheTatman to explain Lost Ark’s appeal. TimTheTatman replied that he liked the character leveling, gear, and PvP combat so far. But Dr Disrespect was quick to ask him where the “skill” was.
“If I’m going to invest time into a game…” Doc started.
But TimTheTatman interrupted him to say that his opinion on Lost Ark was “invalid” since he didn’t even like MMO. Dr Disrespect asked TimTheTatman to explain how anyone can “tell the difference” between who is a good player and who isn’t in a game like Lost Ark, even if watching a player like Michael “shroud” Grzesiek.
TimTheTatman shot back that Warzone took no skill. But Dr Disrespect didn’t take the bait. He continued to explain how there was no way to differentiate who is a good player and who isn’t. MMOs are less about skill, The Two-Time felt, and are more about grinding.
Asmongold breaks Twitch record with Lost Ark
While Lost Ark may not be the right fit for Dr Disrespect, it’s clearly been a good match for MMO players like Asmongold. While there may be no mechanical skills involved, many people watch streamers play MMOs for the journey and decision-making within the world.
Asmongold reached 285,726 peak viewers on his return stream. He called his return to Twitch “crazy,” saying he couldn’t even believe he was streaming again.
The comeback stream was most definitely a success, breaking his previous Twitch records. While this could be due to the hype of Asmongold’s comeback to his main channel, there is no denying that there is also excitement behind Lost Ark. Only time will tell if the game tanks like New World, but it’s looking more promising thus far.
