Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm has announced an indefinite break from streaming after being released from the Midnight Society, a game studio he helped co-founded in 2021.

Dr Disrespect is currently facing serious allegations. A former Twitch employee, Cody Conners, accused an unnamed streamer of engaging in inappropriate communication with a minor and planning to meet her at Twitch con. While the post did not explicitly name Dr Disrespect, it is widely believed to be about him, especially considering his mysterious ban in 2020.

The Two-Time has denied these allegations, but the impact on his career is evident as he has been removed from the game studio he helped establish.

On May 25, Midnight Society took to X to announce that it has decided to let go of Dr Disrespect after conducting an in-house investigation into the accusations. The studio didn’t specify their discovery or the reason behind the decision.

“We assumed his innocence and began speaking with the parties involved. And in order to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we needed to act. For this reason, we are terminating our relationship with Guy Beahm immediately,” the post said.

Why is Dr Disrespect taking a break from streaming?

Dr Disrespect backlash

Dr Disrespect has announced an indefinite break from streaming after being accused of sexting with a minor using Twitch Whispers.

On May 24, Dr Disrespect made his first appearance on a stream after the allegations emerged on social media. He started by refuting the claims. About three hours into his Elden Ring stream, he received a message that immediately changed his mood. That’s when he began discussing feeling burned out and the need to take a break.

“I’m just tired of being on social media. I have expressed that over the years. I’ve always kind of hinted that it will be nice to get off and just completely separate. Go live in Costa Rica or something, but I am just feeling burnt out, you know?” he said.

He described how he had been experiencing fatigue and just wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle, maybe even take a break from Midnight Society. After that, he abruptly ended the stream.

It’s likely that he was informed about the upcoming Midnight Society post which may have caused the shift in his tone and mood. In any case, Dr Disrespect will likely stay away from streaming for some time now, at least until this matter reaches a conclusion.
