DisguisedToast hints he could be the next streamer leaving Twitch

Jeremy “DisguisedToast” Wang may be the next streaming sensation to leave Twitch.

Earlier today, DisguisedToast tweeted a cryptic message to fans that had the streaming community speculating that he may not be on Twitch for much longer.

“I want to tell YOU all something. It’s time to FACE the facts. I have to MIX things up,” he tweeted

Fans immediately put together that the famous Hearthstone player was referencing YouTube, Facebook Live, and Mixer. These are Twitch’s three biggest competitors. But his followers have been left to debate which streaming platform DisguisedToast is moving to, if any.

According to the mystery message, the announcement will come this Friday.

DisguisedToast may be latest streamer to leave Twitch

DisguisedToast currently has over 1 million followers on Twitch, making him a hugely popular personality on the streaming platform. But Twitch is lately no stranger to losing their top content creators.

In August, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins shocked the Fortnite community when he announced he was moving to Mixer, Microsoft’s lesser known streaming platform. The streaming superstar has seen some success in his new home and is, not surprisingly, the biggest streamer on the service.

Despite his immense fanbase, Ninja wasn’t able to give Mixer an immediate overall boost. In fact, Mixer is the platform with the lowest share of streaming hours watched online at 3.2%. Twitch is hoarding over 75% of the views, followed by YouTube, and then Facebook.

Still, ex-Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro Michael “shroud” Grzesiek followed Ninja’s lead and left Twitch for Mixer as well. He had called Ninja’s switch in platforms one of his smartest moves thus far, and the move seems to prove the sincerity behind that statement. shroud left 7 million Twitch followers behind.

Deaf female streamer Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler followed the two streaming superstars to Mixer soon after.

Earlier this month, 100 Thieves content creator Jack “CouRage” Dunlop left Twitch for YouTube. Before the announcement, the Fortnite streamer had 2.1 Twitch followers and 1.8 million YouTube subscribers.

While no official statements have come from many of these streamers as to why they decided to leave Twitch, Ninja’s manager and wife has been vocal in the past about the streaming star’s reasons for the change. She cited toxic communities within Twitch and contractual disagreements as Ninja’s biggest reasons for wanting to leave.

Twitch has been constantly under fire by the streaming community for their seemingly inconsistent rulings and punishments. This could also play a role in some content creators’ decisions to change platforms.
