Dev Diary Reveals Changes to Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
Assassins’ Creed fans are getting an intimate look at the development process around the latest game in the franchise. Recent leaks from dev diaries, as well as other leaked videos, show that changes have been made to both the gameplay setup and even elements like weather.
How Can You Find Information in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows?
Characters in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows can get information by climbing to high points and sending scouts. With the former, question markets will pop up in designated spaces below them to show that they’re points of interest. With the latter, a video has leaked showing Naoe, the main character of the upcoming game, getting information from scouts.
This is a feature present in previous Assassin’s Creed games and it seems it will be carried over to the new one.
Another notable development has been the weather, with the new game featuring several different weather types. These different seasons will have an impact on the locations that players can access at any given time and how they can leverage their surroundings. But not to worry, as Thierry Dansereau, art director of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, has said that these weather changes won’t have an adverse effect on the actual gaming experience. In a public statement, he said, these changes are not designed, “to be something that could be perceived as very negative or have a negative impact on how you play.”
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows players will also be able to expand on their characters’ hideouts within the game. This includes adding armouries and even deciding how the structure will look.
When Does Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Come Out?
Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will be released on November 15, 2024. Unlike previous games, it will feature a dual-protagonist setup which will see players choosing a samurai or a more stealthy character depending on their tastes. Fans have been a bit divided about these new developments as while some are looking forward to them, others worry about their enjoyment of the game being impacted.
