Streamer Stephen “Destiny” Bonell II was banned from Twitch earlier this week, and fans believe it to be related to the use of a racial slur.
Neither Destiny nor Twitch have come forward with an official explanation for the ban, but many have speculated that it was due to some of Destiny’s behavior on a Twitter account called The Omni Liberal.
On Wednesday, March 23, Destiny tweeted that people want to “execute white people” for using a racial epithet “in a friendly way.” Meanwhile, they are allowed to “froth at the mouth” while screaming “cracker.”
Some found this statement offensive, and Twitch has historically been willing to take action against influencers for behavior on other social media platforms. But there are other probable reasons for Destiny’s ban.
The official reason for Destiny’s ban has not been revealed and fans are wondering what happened.
One popular theory is that Destiny was suspended for streaming with Nicholas Fuentes. Fuentes is a far-right white and streamer who is banned from Twitch and most other social media platforms due producing to racist, misogynistic, and anti-LGBTQIA content. Despite this, Destiny had a debate with him earlier in March.
No stranger to controversy, the ban may also be due to an online argument Destiny had with a trans streamer. Keffals had claimed on Twitter that Destiny was behind a series of hate raids she received on Twitch.
Right now, it’s not clear when Destiny will be back from his latest ban on Twitch. The exact duration of the suspension is unknown. Destiny has been banned in the past, even losing his Twitch partnership.
