Max "Demon1" Mazanov of Evil Geniuses competes at VALORANT Champions Los Angeles Playoffs Stage at the Shrine Expo Hall on August 19, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.

North American star Max “Demon1” Mazanov has become the highest-rated player at Valorant Champions, according to the latest statistics.

Evil Geniuses player Demon1, who has been essential to the success of the team since his introduction, has accrued a 1.31 rating at Valorant Champions at the time of writing, according to data collected by VLR.gg.

Alfajer’s rating took a slight hit following Fnatic’s defeat to LOUD but he still managed to main a positive rating with 1.06.

Evil Geniuses have a tough test ahead of them

North American team Evil Geniuses had an impressive run at Valorant Champions with victories over the likes of EDward Gaming and DRX. The team has only lost one map throughout the tournament at the time of writing.

Evil Geniuses is set to take on Paper Rex in the upper finals in a few days time. The match will be the toughest test for the team since Paper Rex has had equally impressive form at Champions.

Paper Rex recently took down Brazilian champions LOUD to secure a spot in the upper finals. The loser of the match between Paper Rex and Evil Geniuses will face off against the winner of Fnatic and LOUD. The winner of that match will earn a spot in the grand final to win the Champions trophy and become the best team in Valorant.

The favorites for MVP of the tournament include Demon1 and Alfajer, both top Valorant players have performed exceptionally well individually. But it depends on which teams wins the tournament and the players that perform in the grand final to take their team to victory.

Evil Geniuses is set to play Paper Rex on Aug. 24.
