AHQ was no threat to IG, but the team was put in a stressful situation after the loss to DWG. In order to defend their world champion crown, they had to beat Team Liquid in the last match of the day. They managed survive and eliminate the last North American team standing at Worlds.
IG started the game strong, with Song “Rookie” Eui-jin taking a solo kill mid against Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen for first blood. IG turned up the heat from there, but Liquid kept holding on through the mid-game.
Once IG started snowballing, there was nothing more Liquid could do.
