CR4ZY reportedly sell CSGO team to unnamed NA organization

CR4ZY might be getting out of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive game.

According to a report by HLTV, CR4ZY has agreed to terms on a transfer of its roster to an unnamed North American organization. The current lineup includes the following players:

  • Nestor “LETN1” Tanić
  • Rokas “EspiranTo” Milasauskas
  • Otto “ottoNd” Sihvo
  • Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov
  • Luka “emi” Vuković

After a few years as a decent but unremarkable team, the organization formerly known as Valiance had a breakout 2019 that included winning United Masters League Season 1 and placing second at DreamHack Open Tours 2019.

Most notably, the team successfully qualified for the StarLadder Berlin Major through the Europe Minor Championship. The team then posted a strong performance at the major, clearing the Challengers Stage with a 3-1 record and nearly qualifying for the Champions Stage with a 2-3 record in the Legends Stage. That strong showing was good enough to earn the team a guaranteed spot in the 2020 ESL Rio Major.

Their run in Berlin was tarnished slightly by the CEO’s allegations of roster tampering towards G2 Esports. This was followed by the transfer of two CR4ZY players in the weeks after the event. The organization that takes on the CR4ZY roster will retain their spot in the next CSGO major, should it hold onto LETN1, EspiranTo, and ottoNd through the spring.

CR4ZY has not confirmed the news and it is unclear if it plans to continue on in CSGO should this team depart. No financial details were given.

Future unclear for CR4ZY roster in CSGO

HLTV’s report states that CR4ZY is set to join a North American organization, but it is unclear where they will end up. A number of mass transfers have occurred over the last few months in CSGO, with NRG Esports sending its roster to Evil Geniuses, Renegades handing its Australian team to 100 Thieves, and Cloud9 dropping its core to Gen.G in favor of ATK’s lineup.

This has left several prominent North American organizations with strong CSGO pedigrees teamless. There are also multiple organizations with histories in the game that are currently teamless that may return, such as Team SoloMid or Counter Logic Gaming. Finally, there are multiple organizations that have incomplete rosters that might start over by signing CR4ZY.

Expect definite answers to come in the near future.
