Reports suggest that Brazilian star Marcelo “coldzera” David is all but set to join Complexity’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.

coldzera is on the verge of signing with Complexity ahead of the BLAST Premier Fall groups, according to 1pv.fr. The veteran has been evaluating his options due to his status as a free agent, and it seems that a deal is nearing completion.

Various media outlets including 1pv.fr have reported the news of coldzera moving to Complexity. The Benjamin “blameF” Bremer-led roster recently lost firepower in Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke, who went offline after a hand injury. The AWPer is still in recovery after surgery and may take some more time before returning. Complexity has likely found a replacement in coldzera, who’s been without a team since June.

It’s unknown whether coldzera is joining permanently or would step back as soon as k0nfig returns after his cast is removed on September 15. Whatever the case, Complexity is in dire need of firepower as it enters BLAST Premier, and coldzera looks like a good fit for the roster.

coldzera might join Complexity in CSGO

coldzera has remained one of the longest-standing members in FaZe Clan. The Brazillian superstar joined the roster in 2019, and with his solid performance on the server, Coldzera managed to become among the most valuable members of the roster. However, a dip in the team’s performance despite multiple roster swaps saw coldzera move to the bench and he eventually quit FaZe Clan as a result.

Since he departed FaZe, the pro player has received multiple offers from teams while on the sidelines. He was also rumored to join FURIA in his native Brazil, but the deal fell through. FURIA’s Andre Akkari tweeted that “things didn’t work out” in talking about the negotiations between the organization and the player.

While he had multiple options, he’s taking his time to pick his next home. On a GGCast podcast episode, coldzera revealed that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač was a big part of why he had joined FaZe in the first place, so he’s more careful to make the next decision. After NiKo’s move, coldzera was left in charge of looking after a FaZe Clan CSGO division that was out of sorts at times.

Nothing is yet set in stone, but an announcement could be made soon. The reports imply that the pro player should join Complexity before the BLAST Premier Fall group games. coldzera would be playing his first game in Complexity’s colors against his former teammates from FaZe Clan on September 24 if the deal comes through.

Complexity’s roster at BLAST Premier if the reports come to fruition:

  • Benjamin “blameF Bremer
  • Valentin “poizon Vasilev
  • Justin “jks Savage
  • Patrick “es3tag Hansen
  • Marcelo “coldzera David
  • Luis “peacemaker Tadeu (coach)
