Complexity Gaming’s young gun Owen “oBo” Schlatter has finally been released from contractual obligations as the organization has announced his official release.

The inactive rifler will no longer be associated with the team as Complexity Gaming has cut ties in a public announcement.

Today we are announcing the release of Owen @oBoCSGO Schlatter.

We’d like to thank him for all his contributions to #COLCS and wish him the very best for the future. #WeAreCOL pic.twitter.com/comxTysDbu

Complexity’s 2020 wasn’t terrible by any stretch. However, oBo’s cold feet ahead of ESL Pro League Season 12 boosted the imminent slump that is currently swamping the American team. The organization confirmed that it was aware of oBo’s desire to return to the United States and was willing to accommodate him after the tournament. The discussion failed to stop oBo from ditching the team just before play got underway.

The organization still had oBo under contract, which effectively left him idle on the team’s bench. Four months after the episode, Complexity has confirmed that oBo is now free to explore other options.

oBo’s exit doesn’t change much for the team as the player was already inactive. However, Complexity has been going through a rough patch early in 2021 as the organization’s effort to rebound has been ineffective thus far. Despite signing star rifler Justin “jks” Savage, the team’s struggle against lesser sides has dragged it to the bottom of the world rankings.

Complexity releases oBo from roster

Complexity had once found a hit with oBo. The young talent joined the roster when he was just 15 years old and remained under Benjamin “blameF” Bremer’s captaincy for over a year. During his one and a half year tenure with the team, the ace rifler assisted the squad in moving through to the top five of the world rankings in 2020.

oBo has remained out of the spotlight ever since he took a flight back to America. But the young gun has been on the radar of major esports organizations thanks to his striking rating of 1.11. While he wishes to be based in North America, the player stated that he is “willing to bootcamp and be in Europe for extended periods of time.”

It remains to be seen how oBo proceeds through his journey in CSGO. For now, the 17-year-old is polishing his skills for a potential comeback with a world-class team.
