coldzera takes mibr frustration public after fan meeting dispute

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive star Marcelo “coldzera” David has vented his frustration with esports organization MiBR over how they have treated him at a recent event at which coldzera met fans in São Paulo.

This comes after a long period of frustration for coldzera surrounding his position with the team. The Brazillian, generally considered one of the best CSGO players in the world, had asked to leave the organization in July. The relationship between team and player broke down further when MiBR coach Wilton “zews” Prado announced that coldzera would no longer be part of the squad’s active roster.

Despite not being on the starting roster, coldzera is still expected to attend all MiBR engagements. On August 3 and 4, MiBR hosted an event in São Paulo for fans where they would get the chance to meet the team and watch them play.

In an Instagram story coldzera expressed frustrations with the event, saying he “wasn’t invited onto the stage” while the rest of the team were speaking to the gathered fans.

He also offered an apology to fans who missed the opportunity to meet the star by saying, “I only got a 30-minute space to sign your guy’s stuff and I know it wasn’t enough to all of you. Unfortunately, it was the only thing they let me do.”

The Legends stage of the Berlin StarLadder Major begins August 28 and MiBR will go into that tournament on a run of poor form and without their biggest star player in coldzera. Despite all of the recent turmoil, coldzera is still under contract with the organization for multiple years to come and unless another team is willing to buy him out of the final years of that deal it seems that coldzera may have to settle for being benched.

Reports have indicated that the buyout on coldzera’s contract may be massive, so it could be some time before coldzera wears the colors of another team.

Between 2016 and 2017 while playing as part of Luminosity and SK Gaming, coldzera was dominant, winning numerous events including two majors. It would be a disappointing resolution for a player of such talent to not be competing and to be benched for the remainder of his extended contract.
