CodeMiko has been banned from Twitch again

CodeMiko ban

Twitch streamer Youna “CodeMiko” Kang has been banned from Twitch for using a shock collar.

CodeMiko has become one of the most popular VTubers on Twitch, with almost 1 million followers on the controversial streaming platform. The VTuber is known for pushing the boundaries by doing a lot of suggestive streams with other popular content creators. Thousands will usually tune in to each stream to see what antics she gets up to.

This time, CodeMiko’s shocking behavior got her suspended from the platform.

Why was CodeMiko banned from Twitch?

On February 27, fans of CodeMiko noticed that the bubbly streamer’s channel was gone.

But fans weren’t left in the dark for too long. CodeMiko took to Discord to tell her community exactly what happened. Apparently, it was “cuz of the shock collar.”

During a recent stream, CodeMiko played a game with her community where if she laughed at something she watched, she was forced to shock herself with the shock collar. This is apparently against Twitch’s Terms of Service, which state that streamers can’t “glorify, promote, or encourage self-harm.” The platform also doesn’t allow any activities that “lead to physical harm.”

For now, it’s unclear how long CodeMiko’s ban will last for.

How many times has CodeMiko been banned?

CodeMiko has now been banned from Twitch five times.

In the past, CodeMiko has been banned for a wide range of violations. One of her bans was over telling viewers to send her $1 for a D pic. This sounded quite suggestive to Twitch, but CodeMiko claimed she was just sending people pics of the literal letter D.

Later, CodeMiko was banned for leaking someone’s private information while streaming. She ended up showing her thousands of viewers another streamer’s full name and email. This ban was controversial because the email was actually from someone accused of harassing a female guest on CodeMiko’s stream.

Her second most recent ban was over a strange “homelessness” stream where CodeMiko appeared completely naked while living in a crate. The stream was even called “CODEMIKO MIGHT GET BANNED TODAY.” While she is a VTuber, the nudity guidelines still apply to her.

Is CodeMiko permanently banned?

Most likely not.

It’s impossible to know how long CodeMiko’s ban will last this time around since Twitch keeps these matters private. She has not spoken about the most recent ban either, leaving fans a bit in the dark about the duration or the severity of Twitch’s punishment for now.
