Cloud9 Perkz says Kassadin can’t ever be balanced in LoL

Cloud9 mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković recently explained why he doesn’t think Kassadin will ever be balanced in League of Legends.

During a recent stream, Perkz addressed the state of Kassadin and why it is hard for Riot Games to balance the champion. The star mid laner explained that Kassadin has been bad in competitive play for many years while being completely the opposite in solo queue, making him an overall unbalanced champion. According to Perkz, Kassadin has a “bad character design” and should get a rework.

Kassadin is a champion that has been around since 2009 and was one of the very first champions added to the game. Despite his age, Kassadin remains one of the most unique mages in the game as no champion is quite like him. Kassadin is known as arguably the strongest scaling champion in the game, with a scary power spike when he hits level 16 and can level up his Riftwalk ultimate for a third time.

This has made Kassadin a very controversial champion and Perkz likely isn’t alone with this opinion regarding Kassadin. In competitive play, Kassadin is rarely seen as professional players are usually able to shut him down. Giving Kassadin a hard time in lane will delay his power spike and hopefully nullify him before level 16.

In solo queue, it’s quite the opposite. Without getting shut down in the early stages, a Kassadin will be able to take over the game and snowball out of control. According to Perkz, Kassadin has been “OP in solo queue forever” and will, never be balanced in as a result.

With over 10 years in the game, Riot has made changes to Kassadin several times but he remains a difficult champion to deal with for most players. Whether a rework for Kassadin is in the works is unknown, but unlikely.

Cloud9 2021

Why did Perkz go to C9?

After playing for G2 Esports for several years, Perkz made the unexpected move to Cloud9 after the 2020 season concluded. The main reason for Perkz swap is alleged that he wanted to go back to the mid lane, which wasn’t possible on G2 with Rasmus “Caps” Winther taking the spot. Ultimately, this meant that Perkz had to take another career path and join Cloud9 in one of the biggest roster swaps to date.

Can Cloud9 make worlds?

After missing out at the 2020 World Championship, Cloud9 is back for vengeance in 2021. After dominating the 2020 LCS Spring Split, Cloud9 was expected to make Worlds easily but ended up falling short in the summer split. With Perkz on the roster in 2021, Cloud9 has already secured another spring split trophy and looks like a team that will definitely make the 2021 World Championship later this year.
