Cloud9 is partnering with sportswear brand PUMA.
The global sportswear company will be providing the League of Legends squad with sponsored gear throughout the 2019 Spring Split.
Cloud9 will be starting the new year with a new look, as the organization scored a major partner after a successful year of 2018.
The team qualified to the World Championship as North America’s third seed. Many underestimated Cloud9’s ability to go far in the tournament, but the team surprised fans and analysts alike. The squad made it to the semifinal round where they lost to eventual runner-up Fnatic.
This achievement adds to the long list of feats accomplished by the organization in 2018. According to a report by Forbes, Cloud9 is currently the most valuable esports organization in the world.
“Cloud9 is poised to have a great LCS season, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. We look forward to working with the Cloud9 team to make sure their players look as stylish off-stage as they do on-stage,” said Adam Petrick, PUMA’s global director of marketing.
The promotional photo features Danish jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen, who joined Cloud9 in 2018 after parting ways with TSM.
“We can’t think of a better way to kick off 2019 than with this incredible apparel partnership with PUMA,” said Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO. “All of us are looking forward to what we’ll create with this partnership, and how good we’ll look while doing it.”
Cloud9 is currently taking part in the 2019 LCS Spring Split and is considered one of the favorites to take the title this season.
