Cloud9 officially signs vice to complete pro Valorant team

Cloud9 has announced the signing of Daniel “vice” Kim as the fifth and final player for the organization’s new Valorant roster.

“I’m super excited to join C9 Valorant. I competed in CS:GO professionally for about four years,” vice said. “I’m switching to Valorant mainly because after four years of competing in professional CS:GO I grew a little stale of it and I wanted to start a new chapter and I thought that Valorant was the best opportunity for that.”

vice has been playing with the rest of Cloud9’s Valorant roster since the Immortals First Light tournament, so the announcement comes as more of a formality.

It should be noted that all of the players that represented Cloud9 at Immortals First Light are now officially signed to the organization.

Cloud9 among best NA Valorant esports teams

Despite failing to win a tournament thus far, Cloud 9 has quickly asserted itself as one of the best new squads in the burgeoning Valorant competitive scene. In the stacked North American region, they are second only to the likes of Team SoloMid and Sentinels. Although they lack the firepower and clutch potential that these top teams have already demonstrated, Cloud9 make up for it with their synergy and fine strategic approach.

Most recently, Cloud9 finished third in the Pittsburg Knights Invitational Gauntlet Series.

With the vice’s signing, the Cloud9 Valorant roster is finally complete. After initially signing Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, Cloud9 slowly filled out their roster with Skyler “Relyks” Weaver, Mitch “mitch” Semago and Josh “shinobi” Abastado.

vice, like the rest of his new teammates, comes from a background spent playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professionally. He has played for numerous CSGO teams including TSM and Rogue. Prior to making the switch to Valorant, vice’s latest tenure in CS was also with C9, where he was on trial in 2019. Now he’ll fill the ranks of the organization’s Valorant roster. Reportedly, he’ll be playing more of a supportive role on his main Cypher.

Cloud9’s next appearance will be at Pop Flash later this month on August 26. The event is planned to be the final North American Ignition Series tournament for 2020.
