Cloud9’s Robert “Blaber” Huang is the 2021 LCS Spring MVP after a dominant split in the jungle

The young North American jungler has been a crucial part of Cloud9’s success this split as the team has already locked in a spot in the Mid-Season Showdown final on Sunday. Blaber and Cloud9 also finished the regular split in the first place and has been the most consistent team in the league this split. Blaber will face either TSM or Team Liquid in the final, with a chance to win his second domestic trophy.

The MVP award this split wasn’t easy to get, with many great performers in the region. It came down to Blaber and Team Liquid top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris, but Blaber’s dominance in the jungle week after week was enough to secure his first MVP award over TL’s newest import.

Blaber has played for Cloud9 as the starting jungler since the 2020 LCS Spring Split after Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen moved to Evil Geniuses. Many fans were worried if Blaber could step up to the plate, but he has proven to be more than capable of that. In fact, Blaber has likely been one of the most improved players in the LCS over the last year and isn’t looking to slow down in 2021.

So far this split, Blaber has played a lot of Lillia and Nidalee and has been very good at it. The current aggressive jungle meta fits him and the rest of Cloud9 quite well. During the regular split, Blaber secured a total of 68 kills, by far the most by any jungler in the league. Behind him is Team Liquid’s Lucas “Santorin” Larsen at 54 kills. Blaber also fielded an impressive KDA of 5.1 and an average 214 gold differential after 10 minutes against the opposing jungler.

How old is C9 Blaber?

Blaber is 21 years old and has played League of Legends professionally since joining Cloud9 Academy as a substitute for the 2018 season. At only 21 years old, Blaber likely has plenty of years left to play as a professional and continues to look like one of the most promising talents in North America.

When is the 2021 Mid-Season Showdown final?

Blaber and the rest of Cloud9 will play at the Mid-Season Showdown final on Sunday, April 11. Their opponent will be the winner of TSM and Team Liquid, who will clash on Saturday, April 10.
