CLG will try to turn its losing streak around when facing off against Evil Geniuses on the second day of the 2021 LCS Summer Split Week 5.

After a fantastic fourth week for CLG, the team is back on a losing streak of three games that has lowered the hype around the squad once again. CLG managed to pull off three wins in a row during week 3, where the team utilized Vi in the jungle to create some scary engage compositions. For week 4, it seemed that the other teams had started to figure out CLG which would force them to come up with something new against EG.

EG has been inconsistent this split, currently sitting at a 6-6 record since the summer split began. The team will enter this week on much better footing than CLG, as EG ended last week with two important wins in a row. This puts the explosive roster at fifth place in the standings, and more wins are required to break into the top three.

EG will be looking to chase that top-three spot and a win against CLG is required for that. EG will likely be able to play off its own strengths and try to snowball the different lanes. When it comes to raw skill, EG will outmatch CLG and may try to win the game through expressing that superior skill.

Picking the most valuable players for CLG vs EG on Clout Fantasy

To spice up things even more in the CLG vs EG match, one can participate in a fantasy league and utilize one’s knowledge of the teams and players. Clout Fantasy is one of the best options out there, offering cash prizes for its competitors.

Looking at the fantasy options in this match, the key to victory will likely be found in the jungle. The drafting phase will be extremely important as CLG has proven to be very innovative this split and surprise opponents to get wins. When hitting Summoner’s Rift, EG will try to dictate the pace in the early game and get a lead.

Meanwhile, CLG will try to counter that as most teams know that EG likes to play aggressively. This makes CLG jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen the most important member of the team for the first minutes and he isn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty. Despite being at the bottom of the standings, Broxah sits at a solid KDA among the LCS junglers. So far this split, Broxah has gotten 29 kills while EG’s jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen has 23 kills.

This puts greater value on Broxah as a fantasy pick, as he will be the facilitator for CLG. EG might still be expected to win out this match with mid laner Daniele “Jiizuke” Mauro hungry for kills, but Broxah might be the one to harvest the most fantasy points for CLG.

In the mid lane, Jiizuke is the obvious pick as he is currently leading all LCS mid laners in kills. The Italian star currently has 52 kills over the course of 12 games, which is a lot compared to Eugene “Pobelter” Park’s 26 for CLG.

Evil Geniuses is expected to beat CLG in LCS week 5

Both teams have been very shaky during the summer split thus far, but EG is currently riding a wave of momentum while CLG is back at a crucial loss streak. To bounce back, CLG will have to pull out something different than last week to stand a chance at getting the win. CLG has the innovative playstyle and individual talent to make an upset, but it’s expected that EG will take this one home. Jiizuke is currently playing well in the mid lane which is always scary in a meta like this. Impact is also starting to find his groove up top, which should be enough to keep the troops together and take home another victory.

The match between Evil Geniuses and CLG kicks off on Saturday, July 3.
