CLG has benched Pobelter going into LCS, according to WildTurtle
CLG’s mid laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park has reportedly been benched ahead of the 2021 LCS Spring Season start, according to bot laner Jason “WildTurtle” Tran
On a recent podcast, WildTurtle mentioned that Pobelter has been benched for the upcoming LCS games and will likely be replaced by Academy mid laner Alexey “rjs” Zatorski, formerly known as Deus. The reported benching of Pobelter happens after CLG underperformed at the LCS Lock In, where the team was knocked directly out of the group stage with a 1-3 record.
WildTurtle made the comment about Pobelter after being asked how it is to play with him again, as he said that it’s great but that the veteran mid laner has recently been benched. The two players have played with each other previously on both Immortals and FlyQuest and seem to know each other very well, but it still seems that WildTurtle wasn’t supposed to disclose this information publicly.
“He just got benched for our Academy player, I think he is having some attitude issues with the coaching staff,” WildTurtle said.
If what WildTurtle said is true, it’s likely that CLG will make a public announcement in the upcoming days.
Broxah still stuck in Europe due to visa issues
The benching of Pobelter wouldn’t be the only problem for CLG heading into the first week of the 2021 LCS season. The team’s new Danish jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen still seems to have issues with getting his visa, which means that he likely won’t be with the team for this weekend.
Broxah previously provided an update that he was
unlikely to join CLG until February, but that deadline seems to have further extended at this point. Broxah has been streaming regularly for the past few months and was streaming as recently as February 2 where he was still in Denmark.
The absence of Broxah means that CLG will likely use Raymond “Griffin” Griffin for the jungle position for the time being. CLG will play its first game on February 5 against Dignitas.
What is the CLG 2021 LCS roster?
CLG has made quite a few changes going into the 2021 LCS season and more are likely to come with the delay of Broxah’s visa issue and the potential benching of Pobelter.
The CLG 2021 LCS roster is:
- Top – Finn “Finn” Wiestål
- Jungle – Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen / Raymond “Griffin” Griffin
- Mid – Eugene “Pobelter” Park
- Bot – Jason “WildTurtle” Tran
- Support – Andy “Smoothie” Ta
When does the LCS start?
The 2021 LCS Spring Season officially starts on February 5 and will conclude on March 14.
