CLG Finn gets his visa approved, but Broxah is still waiting
CLG will soon see its new top laner Finn “Finn” Wiestål arrive in Los Angeles to compete with the team.
After failing to get his North American visa in time for the LCS Lock In tournament, Counter Logic Gaming’s new top laner Finn has finally gotten it approved and will be joining up with his new team soon. Finn joined CLG in the offseason after making it all the way to the 2020 World Championship with Rogue of the LEC. The Swedish top laner will replace Kim “Ruin” Hyeong-min, who will be active on the Academy roster in 2021.
Got confirmation today that my visa is approved. Incredibly happy and relieved but its difficult to really feel total relief before @BroxahLoL gets his aswell…
Hoping both of us will be able to cross the sea soon enough— Finn (@FinnLoL) January 19, 2021
Unfortunately for Finn, CLG is already out of the LCS Lock In tournament after going 1-3 in its games. CLG struggled to find momentum with new players subbing in and ended up losing to Golden Guardians, Team Liquid, and Team SoloMid. CLG managed to take down 100 Thieves, but it wasn’t enough to advance from the group stage.
While Finn will be able to travel towards North America soon, it’s still a different story for the team’s new Danish jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen. Broxah is still waiting for his visa to be approved for the second year in a row and didn’t sound optimistic about it in a recent update. Broxah still has a few weeks before the official start of the LCS spring season, but even that might happen without him.
CLG will play its next game on February 5 and Finn will then finally be on the active roster. It remains unknown if Broxah will make it in time to complete as the LCS kicks off.
What is the CLG 2021 LCS roster?
For the 2021 season, CLG has made quite a few changes to get back on top in the LCS. The 2020 season was poor for CLG and 2021 will be a crucial year to turn things around. With changes to almost every position, CLG is looking to be a dark horse this year.
The CLG 2021 LCS roster:
- Top – Finn “Finn” Wiestål
- Jungle – Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen
- Mid – Eugene “Pobelter” Park
- Bot – Jason “WildTurtle” Tran
- Support – Andy “Smoothie” Ta
Who is Finn in LoL?
Finn is a 21-year-old top laner from Sweden. Finn started his career in 2017 on a team called Magistra and quickly started to climb his way up through the European semi-pro scene. After short stays on teams such as Millenium, Ninjas In Pyjamas, and Movistar Riders, Finn got the chance to join Rogue for the 2019 LEC season. Rogue secured a spot in the newly-franchised league and Finn would be the first top laner for the team. Finn stayed with Rogue for almost three years before swapping to CLG in the LCS. The transfer was made after Finn participated in the 2020 World Championship with Rogue.
