EA has shut down Apex Legends Mobile, and however sad it may be, players are more concerned about the money spent. Is it possible to get a refund?

In a surprising turn of events, EA has decided to pause Apex Legends Mobile operations indefinitely. Players were stunned because the mobile variant of the highly successful PC game had a massive release. It was launched after months of anticipation and had a decent response initially. Players were most excited about platform-exclusive legends, and they are now most concerned about the same.

Dedicated Apex Legends players like to spend big bucks on rare items and battle pass. Those who have already spent the money are concerned that they won’t get a refund before Apex Legends Mobile shuts down.

Can you get a refund in Apex Legends Mobile?

No. Unfortunately, money spent on the game is now gone forever. EA is not offering refunds after Apex Legends mobile shuts down.

“We will not be providing refunds for real money purchases, per the terms of the EA User Agreement. For any other refund requests, please contact the third party platform you purchased game content from, e.g., the Apple App Store and Google Play Store,” EA wrote

Sadly, if you spend money on any upcoming or previous content, it will be gone with the game. The good thing is that you can no longer spend any more money on Apex Mobile. In-game transactions will come to a halt at 4 PM ET Tuesday. The small silver lining is that you’d be able to squeeze full juice out of the purchased content throughout the ninety (90) day sunset period.

Why is EA halting Apex Legends Mobile?

According to EA, Apex Legends Mobile fell short in quality and cadence, which left the developer with no option but to halt the operations. However, there’s still hope that a mobile version will return with a proper franchise that connects it with other platforms.

“As we look at the mobile market, the biggest new launches that are seeing the most success are the ones that are deeply connected to [a] broader franchise. There’s not always crossplay, but certainly cross-progression and a feeling that they’re part of a single unified community and a single unified game experience.” CEO Andrew Wilson said.

Apex Legends Mobile was completely separate from the PC counterpart. It was so different that PC players were jealous of Apex Legends Mobile for being better in terms of updates and in-game cosmetics. However, PC players can now rest. The mobile game is officially over!
