Call of Duty: Warzone has become one of the most popular battle royales out there and it’s following in Fortnite’s footsteps with an event before Season 3 begins tomorrow. But what is it?

Not much is known about Warzone’s upcoming event despite it being in just a few hours. The event starts at noon PST, kicking off Warzone’s two-day-long transition into Season 3. Season 2 is ending and Season 3 is starting tomorrow, bringing with it a possible new map, new weapons, and in-game challenges. First, players will be able to experience the Nuke Event later today.

What is Call of Duty: Warzone’s Nuke Event?

Call of Duty’s official blog teased the event on Wednesday. The blog basically tells the story behind the Nuke Event, getting players hyped for whatever is incoming.

“The situation in Verdansk has hit a critical level. It seems the combat zone has become too dangerous for even a Tier 1 Operator to survive in. Is a conflagration imminent? The answer is still unknown, though it is recommended you clear your schedule for the week and ready yourself for a crescendo of utter chaos within the Warzone. Be certain you’re available for Operation Rapid Sunder throughout Wednesday, April 21 and beyond,” the blog reads.

It then states that “further instructions” are coming at noon on Wednesday.

Not much else is said. Leakers and data miners have been hard at work leading up to this point, attempting to figure out what might happen before the launch of Season 3. Some speculation points to it taking place in the 1980s but Activision hasn’t said anything official as of yet.

Another theory is that zombies will take over the current map, Verdansk. The Nuke Event will basically leave the map destroyed completely as a result of the invasion. This will be how Warzone will possibly retire Verdansk and introduce a new map, which leakers believe will take place in the Ural mountains.

Where can I watch the Nuke Event?

Players will be able to participate in the event themselves come at 12 p.m. PT on April 21. But popular streamers and influencers from across the Call of Duty: Warzone community will also be hosting streams of the event for fans to watch.

Packages were sent to Call of Duty streamers before the event’s launch. They include a note that reads “once the hostile reach here, we levee a guess that Verdansk is all but gone to the damned.”

…and our package arrived.

Keep an eye on Call of Duty streamers’ Twitch channels around noon PST to watch them take part in this epic Season 2 finale event.

Season 3 is coming to Warzone on April 22. According to Call of Duty’s official Twitter, there will be more events leading up to the new season, including some type of hour-long event happening tomorrow. This will officially finalize the end of Season 2 and bring in the changes of Season 3, which includes new weapons and a possible new map.
