New Cloud9 mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković is heading to Los Angeles this week.Â
The League of Legends veteran excitedly shared the news on his Instagram story earlier today. Perkz told his followers that he was getting “signs of depression” as he continued to wait impatiently for his passport. It had taken a week. On top of the bad weather in Croatia, Perkz was feeling a bit bummed with the hold-up.
“But today I got my passport,” Perkz exclaimed, holding it up for fans to see. “It means I can go to Los Angeles tomorrow. This is a great day.”Â
It was a tough week for Perkz. On top of waiting for the passport, Perkz had to cut a stream short due to a shockingly powerful earthquake that rocked his home country. During a live broadcast, Perkz was interrupted by the 6.3 magnitude quake, which shook his entire house. He could be seen on camera losing his headphones as the shaking intensified. Perkz ended up running off-camera mid-game to ask his parents if they were okay. When he returned, he told his viewers goodbye for the time being.Â
While Los Angeles has earthquake problems of its own, it will most definitely bring along some nicer weather. Perkz will also be able to start scrimming and bonding with his new North American teammates on Cloud9. This currently includes Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami, Robert “Blaber” Huang, Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, and Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme.Â
Perkz is considered one of the top players in the LEC, a league that has consistently out-performed the LCS in international competition. This made Perkz’s move to Cloud9 one of the most shocking of the entire off-season. It’s rumored that Perkz is getting paid about $2.7 million a year over the next three years.Â

Perkz is going to be a mid laner for Cloud9. He previously played for G2 for five years. During that time, Perkz started off as the team’s mid laner but moved to the AD carry role after a defeat at Worlds in 2018, swapping with Rasmus “Caps” Winther.Â
