Partnered Twitch streamer Bruce “BruceDropEmOff” Condones has just been banned from Twitch.
BruceDropEmOff joined Twitch in 2016 and has been growing on the platform ever since. The 22-year-old is known for playing a variety of casual games, like Grand Theft Auto, Fall Guys, and Roblox. He rose in prominence when he joined the content creator collective One True King, although he left the group when controversy started surrounding the org. On YouTube, he has over 1 million subscribers.
Bruce recently had a stream featuring Kai Cenat, one of the biggest streamers in the world. This proves that BruceDropEmOff is getting a much larger platform on Twitch. So what happened?
BruceDropEmOff recently had a stream with Kai Cenat and other black creators where they ranted about Twitch for not listening to them and not implementing important features creators streamers asked for. Now, Bruce has found himself banned from the platform for a fourth time.
Bruce and Twitch have both been silent about the reasoning behind the suspension, and it’s also unclear how long he will be off the platform. But fans are speculating that it’s due to the time BruceDropEmOff called a viewer a word that Twitch deemed a derogatory racial slur.
Now, fans are wondering if Bruce, Cenat, and other top black creators will leave Twitch for good. The successful streamers are often frustrated with the platform and don’t feel supported, making fans curious if they will make the switch to Kick.
But there is a reason that all of the top streamers are hesitant. Kick is a new platform that is widely considered to be underregulated and has far less viewership than Twitch. A lot of streamers are probably worried about making far less money if they move to Kick despite the 95/5 sub split. Bruce and other influencers are most likely hoping for a contract.
As Twitch continues to ban them, however, it seems like Kick becomes all the more enticing.
