brax joins TSM to complete its six-man Valorant roster
TSM has announced Braxton “brax” Pierce as a rotational member on its Valorant team, thus confirming a new six-man roster.
Rumors of the Brax joining TSM have been plentiful for a while, but they reached fever pitch when hazed stopped appearing in team scrims. TSM streamer Ali “Myth” Kabbani filled in James “hazed” Cobb’s spot, which had left the fans wondering if hazed’s days in TSM were numbered. However, a recent announcement has clarified that TSM will run a six-man roster featuring both brax and hazed.
The organization will keep its Sentinel hazed and also recruit brax to achieve a new rotational roster. TSM hasn’t revealed how the extended lineup will work, but the team will likely have map specialists. With brax, the team will gain a third duelist as he has previously rolled with Jett for T1. But since TSM already has duelists in Taylor “drone” Johnson and Matthew “WARDELL” Yu, some role switches may be expected to make the six-man roster work.
brax joins TSM after months of rumors
brax was banned by Valve in 2014 as a result of a match-fixing scandal in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The former CSGO professional player will get a fresh start in Valorant after an anticlimactic exit from T1. brax joined Project: A when it was in its beta version and has since developed a deep understanding of Riot Games’ tactical shooter. While his game knowledge helped T1 during the game’s initial days, a drop in performance resulted in T1 cutting brax out of the active lineup.
TSM’s showing in recent games hasn’t exactly been stellar either. Despite having a gelled roster, the team failed to qualify for VCT Masters: North America after being eliminated during the Challengers circuit. A six-man roster shows that TSM is going all out to bring back the 2020 peak days when the squad was a dominant force in the Valorant scene. The organization promises a “comeback” with brax on its payroll.
In TSM, the former CSGO pro and Valorant star player gets a chance to prove his brilliance in a rotational role. brax is known for his agile movement in Valorant with Jett’s updrafts and dashes, which could help TSM return to its former glory sooner than later.
With Brax’s addition, TSM is:
- Stephen “reltuC” Cutler
- James “hazed” Cobb
- Matthew “WARDELL” Yu
- Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik
- Taylor “drone” Johnson
- Braxton “brax” Pierce
- Taylor “Tailored” Broomall (coach)
